An Introduction to Bleu Marine Bleu Marine is an authentic, Parisian-style bistro that was opened in 1998 by Celine Shen. At the time, few venues outside 5-star hotels offered high-quality Western food, and with reasonable prices to boot, Bleu Marine quickly established itself as a firm favourite amongst both the local media and its many regular patrons. Thanks to its high standards and professional management, Bleu Marine’s reputation as a landmark on the Beijing dining scene has continued to this day, and its French-style seafood and grilled beef tenderloin (in three pepper sauce) have become signature dishes that still draw the crowds - with almost 15,000 steaks consumed on an annual basis! Beyond the keynote offerings that have distinguished the venue over the years, Blue Marine also adheres to the French tradition of changing its menu on a seasonal basis to ensure the dining experience remains fresh and interesting for its clientele. The wine list is also very commendable and in summer in particular the seating on the pavement gives the venue an added French flavour and a relaxed Parisian appeal that continues to delight both newcomers and the old-China hands that have come to regard the venue as “a home away from home” over the last decade.
