Ganges Indian Restaurant has been serving delicious, authentic Indian cuisine to residents of Beijing since 2005, and its success can be measured by its growth from the first restaurant in Haidian to a now city-wide operation with branches in the Chaoyang, CBD and the popular Lido area.

With a passion to share the wide variety and exquisite tastes of Indian food with their customers, Ganges have created a menu that covers the best in Indian food - from Northern to Southern India, as well as the latest from the exciting fusion style of modern Mumbai.

That Ganges has won a loyal following among Indian nationals and other expatriates as well as Beijing natives, is testament to the fine dining offered as well the reasonable prices.

Ganges has garnered independent accolades and rave reviews from the Beijing press, notably the "Editor's Choice" and the "Outstanding Indian" awards from the "That's Beijing" magazine Restaurant Awards.

Main Offerings

Ganges Indian Restaurant is your best destination for great tasting, authentic Indian food in Beijing, with all your favorite Northern Indian recipes, tandoor dishes, aromatic Jeera and Saffron rice choices, Naan and Kulcha breads and highlights from the Southern Indian styles, and the latest from the exciting fusion style of modern Mumbai.

Curry dishes are a Ganges specialty with more than 80 different preparations for you to try: chicken curries, lamb curries, seafood curries, vegetable curries, and egg curries. Vegetarians are in for a treat, with over 40 different vegetable curries to choose from.

The best curries selected from many different Indian provinces, including many secret recipes mastered by their chefs, have been brought exclusively by Ganges to Beijing. To ensure authenticity throughout the menu Ganges import more than 50 different rare and exotic spices from India.

The cooking of South India is also not to be missed. Influenced by the climate, the availability of different ingredients, and the fact that many people from Southern India are strictly vegetarian for religious reasons, Southern Indian cuisine is quite distinctive from other parts of the country and well worth discovering!

Highlights of the menu include the Dosa – a thin, crispy pancake that comes with a variety of fillings – Idli, chutney, soup, flavored lentil and rice dishes, as well as the special South Indian-style curries.

Ganges Restaurants also offer excellent venues and first class service for events whether on or or off site.
