California Fitness, part of 24 Hour Fitness Worldwide (comprising over 400 fitness facilities worldwide) is acknowledged as the leader in the fitness industry in Asia. In August 2007, California Fitness opened the first club in mainland China partnering with basketball superstar Yao Ming. The first club is a Signature club with Yao, and named the California Fitness - Yao Ming Sport Club. Located in The Place, on the west side of Beijing's Central Business District, the California Fitness - Yao Ming Sport Club occupies nearly 40,000 sq. ft and offers members a full service gym with numerous amenities, including a basketball court, an energy studio, a yoga studio, a cycling studio, comprehensive cardio machines, a complete range of free weights and comprehensive resistance equipment, Xpress Zone®, and Kick Fit®. All personal trainers received certification from AASFP.
